Solar power is an unstoppable force for tackling many of the world’s crises; clean, affordable, accessible energy helping to reduce our emissions, improve access to energy, and strengthen energy security worldwide.
With 60% of the world’s best solar resources, yet only 1% of global installed solar capacity, Africa is bursting with untapped opportunity to be a shining solar continent. Investment in the continent’s renewables markets is essential to unlocking this vast potential.
Kenya alone has 15 GW of solar potential and a supportive policy framework that saw Bloomberg NEF rank them fifth globally in terms of clean energy investment opportunities.
To bridge the gap between demand and supply, SolarPower Europe and the Africa Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) are joining forces to organise the Renewable Energy Forum Africa (REFA) energy experts from across the world in Nairobi on 4– 6 October, 2023, at the Sarit Expo Center. This event is supported by our partner GET.invest, a European programme supported by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria that aims at mobilising investments in renewable energy in developing countries.
The event will bring delegates the latest insights and give attendees the chance to meet key players in the African energy transition, forge new business relationships, and find innovative projects to invest in.
The conference will cover the latest advancements in solar and wind in Africa, particularly looking at the 350 billion USD opportunity for the solar C&I segment; the latest market intelligence for green hydrogen in East Africa, scaling storage, e-mobility, plus much more. The event will also offer unique networking opportunities to help seal the deal on renewables investment in Africa.
REFA will be co-located with the Powerelec Kenya exhibition, attracting more than 150 exhibitors from the global power industry showcasing their latest products and solutions.
