Over the course of the week, we had 100 speakers in different panel sessions covering the hottest topics in the PPA and onsite sourcing world. One theme that took precedence was the current extraordinary energy crisis that threatens to leave Europeans without heat this winter, and how to scale up renewables fast to address this.
This event came at a critical time, only one week after EU Energy Ministers agreed on emergency market intervention measures to tackle rising energy costs. During RE-Source sessions, many panelists agreed that the potential of uncoordinated national revenue caps applying to PPAs risks chilling the market, at a time when businesses need PPAs to secure stable energy prices more than ever.
One thing was unanimous: we must collaborate and work together in order to accelerate the energy transition, achieve energy security in these times of crisis and fight the climate emergency.

In addition to the pertinent topics discussed during the panel sessions such as 24/7 RES, renewable hydrogen, guarantees of origin, heat purchase agreements and how to convince your CFO to sign a PPA, RE-Source 2022 also facilitated B2B matchmaking and networking sessions which were highly attended.
It is clear to see this was our biggest and best RE-Source event yet. We look forward to next year and the developments that will take place in the meantime.
