Launch of EU Solar Jobs Report 2021 Towards Higher Solar Ambitions in Europe

With solar PV energy in the EU on a steady growth path towards climate ambitions towards 2030 and 2050, job creation associated with PV is also expanding rapidly. Solar energy is not only the best option to decarbonise the EU economy quickly – it is also a very attractive solution to revitalise job creation across the European continent. As the energy source that creates most jobs, solar energy can provide highly skilled and long-lasting employment opportunities for all Europeans.

In this webinar SolarPower Europe’s new report, EU Solar Jobs Report 2021: Towards Higher Solar Ambitions in Europe, will be presented. The study quantifies the number of jobs created directly and indirectly by the EU solar sector today and gives an outlook for 2025 and 2030, with an analysis of different levels of the value chain. With a view to the 2030 Renewable Energy Targets, the study models the effects of the European Commission’s 40% RES target on solar employment and compares it with the 45% RES target asked for by SolarPower Europe.
