Launch: The Solar Stewardship Initiative
Online at 14:00-15:00 CEST
The European solar sector is growing exponentially and is set to become the main electricity source in Europe by 2050, according to the IEA. With growth, the impact that we can make in the value chain increases. The Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) puts this responsibility to action, and works to ensure the energy transition is just, inclusive, and respects human rights.
SolarPower Europe in partnership with Solar Energy UK are proud to introduce the Solar Stewardship Initiative. The Initiative is supported by more than 35 solar companies covering the whole solar value chain and a significant share of the European solar market.
The Solar Stewardship Initiative is working to further develop a responsible, transparent, and sustainable solar value chain – strengthening confidence in how, where, and by whom, solar products are manufactured. This will mean businesses and consumers can trust that their solar products align with international environmental, social, and governance standards.
Join us for the launch of the Solar Stewardship Initiative, and a solution focused debate on:
• Why an industry-led assurance initiative?
• What principles should underpin such initiatives?
• How can we fill the supply chain data gap to raise transparency?
