Junior Business Development Officer

SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Officer will contribute by increasing the revenue generation of our organization, including the following:

• Contribute to membership sales (from A-Z, from identifying a prospect to closing a deal)
• Contribute to sponsorship sales of our own events
• Contribute to sales of potential other products services (e.g. ads in our reports)
• Carry out market research to identify new sales opportunities
• Support with sponsorships implementation
• Build strong relationships with our members and event sponsors
• Establish a collaboration with the marketing team for sales activities
• Carry out some administrative tasks to support events and sales activities
• Use our CRM system to keep track of sales evolution
 

Profile:

 

The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:

• Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently on projects
• Ability to work with demanding deadlines, high pace environment and under pressure to deliver targets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
• 1-2 year experience in a business development, direct sales, client facing roles (internships count as well)
• Ability to multitask and take initiative
• Experience in client relationship management and networking (an advantage)
• A demonstrated ability in business-to-business (B2B) sales (an advantage)
• You are familiar with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
• Experience with a CRM tool (an advantage)
• Experience working with an association membership and/or events sponsorship is a plus (an advantage)
