Digital Communications Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative person to support SolarPower Europe digital communications.

SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.

 

Digital communications – including our social media, website, podcast, and newsletters – are indispensable tools to convey our messages. We are looking for a driven, creative and enthusiastic Digital Communications Intern who is keen to develop their skills whileo contributing to the delivery, and further elevation, of SolarPower Europe’s digital communications work.

 

We offer a dynamic working environment within a close-knit team in Brussels. You will be working with an ambitious Communications team to further develop your skills and experience in digital communications from creative content brainstorming, learning how to record a podcast, editing videos, to helping shape digital communications campaigns. 

 

You will also gain insight into the world of solar power and EU energy policy with the opportunity to join stakeholder meetings and business trips.
 

Job responsibilities
 

  • Content creator for SolarPower Europe’s social media channels, producing creative and impactful content for LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube. Including video content, creating visuals on canva, assisting on the social media calendar, drafting copy and publishing social media posts, and reporting on social media analytics.
  • Support on the production of video content: help draft engaging video scripts in line with SolarPower Europe’s key messages, support in the recording, editing and publishing of regular video content
  • Support on podcast: planning, production and dissemination.
  • Maintain and update SolarPower Europe’s website: Producing and publishing multimedia content, proofreading and editing material, checking content for accuracy.
  • Support the internal communication work toward our members such as mailings and members area of our website.
  • Support on the planning and production of our monthly newsletter. 
  • Contribute to SolarPower Europe’s events from a digital communications perspective: support on communications during events, such as making reels for Instagram.

 

Profile 

The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:

 

  • Excellent command of English
  • Passion for communications, European affairs and renewable energy.
  • IT skills and first-hand experience with website content management and design programmes (Adobe creative suite, canva) is a plus.
  • Experience with social media, planning and appropriate messaging across different platforms.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and responsibility. 
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, as well as in a team.

 

Our offer

 

  • A Belgian 6-month internship contract (Convention Immersion Professionnelle) and the possibility to renew the internship contract for an additional 6 months.
  • A competitive remuneration package, including 5 internship holidays (on top of all Belgian public holidays), public transportation allowance, work-from-home allowance, and lunch vouchers.
