SolarPower Europe starts 2018 at the top of its class with an A+ score from InfluenceMap, making us the most influential trade association in energy and climate policy globally! InfluenceMap is a non-profit Community Interest Company which maintains metrics on over 350 global industrial companies and trade groups monitoring their activities in regards to aligning climate and energy policy with the Paris Agreement in order to encourage companies and associations to be more climate friendly.

SolarPower Europe was praised for its prominent advocacy for EU renewable energy legislation and its leading efforts to raise the EU 2030 renewable energy target to 35%, which was voted through by the ITRE committee at the European Parliament in November. The 'Small is Beautiful'campaign was highlighted as an important initiative to support small scale renewable installations which will be essential for raising ambitions of the EU Clean Energy Package. SolarPower Europe was also commended for its support of the 550g/kWh carbon emissions capacity mechanism, considered essential to remove support for polluting fossil fuel, with its active involvement in the Make Power Clean campaign. Finally, SolarPower Europe's support for the electrification of transportation through national targets for electric vehicle charging points and GHG emissions standards for vehicles also contributed to its top mark. Overall, SolarPower Europe is recognised as an important association lobbying all strands of EU energy and climate policy to ensure that we meet the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement and maintain the 1.5 degrees Celcius.

It is thanks to all of the hard work of the SolarPower Europe team and its members that has led to this great success and we hope that 2018 we will be able to accomplish even more!
